I kinda just strolled into home Depot grab a bunch of 2x4 and a bit of 4x4 some tools and I off to the races. I was pretty much winging it, how hard could it it. While said winging I did some research and I was mind blown to say the least honestly had no clue wood work was so intricate (Urban to rural move). So I cut my 2x4 to size and glue them, clamp them. All of them. So now I'm sitting here looking stuff up before I start working on the legs. I come across a video of a guy doing the top exactly the same as me, sweet. Although I see him not glueing them all together rather just sections at a time then runs them through a box. Hmmm ok, ummm. What in the ?! Now I'm confused. I did not know what a planer was or did before then. I obviously missed a step. So now here is my question. The planer flattens out the top making it look like a solid piece. I think that's what it does, looks like that's what it did. Not that I can go out an buy a planer but if I did the ones I see are all 13ins , my top is 24in. Would a belt sander yeild the same result? via /r/DIY http://bit.ly/2VRFDa8
