Warning to all: Do NOT fall for Sprint’s free unlimited for a year cell phone plan. It is a scam.
The recurring cost of cell phone data plans lead me to shop for a plan that met my needs at the best price possible. I found Sprint’s Unlimited Freedom Plan which claimed to offer all the features of Unlimited Basic Plus, for less than $5/month after bill credits. I verified the features of the plan with 4 Sprint representatives, who assured me the plan would include 50GB/month of mobile hotspot and would essentially become free after purchasing a $13 SIM card and 2 months of $60/month payments before a credit would be applied to my monthly bill.
What I received is a plan costing $30/month, which does not include a mobile hotspot. I am now told it will cost $75/month to add a mobile hotspot to my plan.
Sprint customer service was unable to help me. I am told the plan I was sold does not exist. Feel free to Google search “Sprint free unlimited plan.” It will advertise the Sprint Unlimited Freedom plan as $0/month until April 2020.
Needless to say I will be cancelling my Sprint contract and switching to a different carrier.
