My basement has started leaking. During heavy rains the bottom of the basement walls has water coming in. It ends up being a small stream but ultimately gets to the drain and goes to the sump pump. (I plan on doing remediation as soon as weather permits) however, my question is this: is it normal for water that is entering a basement stink? My basement smells a bit like sewage. usually after the water goes away and it dries up it's not as bad, and hopefully when I do my remedial measures the water will stop, but I just want to know if that kind of smell seems normal to everyone. I do know that water can cause funky odors. I just want to know if there's any thing else I should be worried about. via /r/DIY https://ift.tt/2C00hNd
