I received an offer from a company in Seattle, WA a few days ago and have spent the entire weekend doing a lot of research on the cost of living there. I've been working for about 8 years with 7 of them being apart of what I can safely define a career. They are offering to cover for relocation as I'm based in Dallas-Fort Worth, Texas. We discussed salary, retirement, benefits, etc. and everything checks out.

I'm have a bit of fear in my mind about moving to a new state and starting all over but now think I'm overthinking this. My on-site interview/visit is in two weeks and I really want to feel confident walking in with additional questions that would solidify my concerns.

Cost of living in DFW, Texas overall has been very generous compared to what Seattle, WA is showing even with the salary increase. I'm single, live relatively frugal (besides car) and have saved enough $$$ through investments and regular cash odd jobs to meet my needs for some time.

I've ran the numbers so many times in this spreadsheet screenshot but feel like I'm missing that could spoil it for me.

*note: all living expenses are in the higher than average level compared to what is true. This is just my over assuming how much it really costs as I have no idea how much things are there.

PS: If anyone would like a copy of this sheet to play around with feel free to shoot me a PM!

PSS: Also if anyone has any pro tips for a non-seattle (-er? -ite?) for saving money there that would be great too!
