I'm working an office 9-5 job, first one out of high school. The employer provided a 1099 tax form and I was wondering if that's right? Shouldn't it be a W-2 since I'm not self-employed?
There's only a handful of people that work there and most don't speak much English. After asking around I was told we're '1099 employees'? Sorry if this is a very basic question, I know next to nothing about taxes and some help would be appreciated.
