I'm 21 and very recently graduated college and moved to a high COL area for work. I've had my credit card for nearly 2 years now, but I want a credit limit increase, because my revolving utilization was much lower (like 3-4%) when I only used it for my phone bill. Now that I'm working full-time, I have things like rent, groceries, and other bills to consider.

Some background:

My current limit is $3800. My score over the past few months has been between 784 and 788. Current salary is 142k. Current liquid assets are about 20k.

My goal is to have a higher credit limit to keep utilization low while using the card for larger monthly or recurring payments like rent and bills.

Would it be appropriate for me to ask for a credit increase, and if so, how much?
