I bought my first house two years ago. I recently thought I should flush the hot water heater. It has not given me any problems. I do not know when the previous owner flushed it.I did what any DIY-er does when wanting to try something new:consulted the almighty YouTubeI went to perform the task andno cold water shutoff valveA pipe comes out of the floor, goes up, hangs a 90 (and then another 90) and goes into the tank.Do I need to crawl underneath my house to shutoff the inlet? Instead should I cut off the main to my house?Or, since I haven’t had any problems with my hot water heater, leave it well enough alone? If it helps, I’m on hard city water. via /r/DIY https://ift.tt/2TpJkWz
