Hello, we have a hot water heating system. I woke up this morning to find that the boiler isn't supplying heat. Luckily, we have the Mr. Slim heat pumps so we aren't without a heat source.I checked downstairs and my ~28 year old Well McLain boiler just wan't running despite the temperature upstairs being several degrees below the thermostat's temperature. The water in the house is cold. I noticed the valve above the expansion tank is dripping. I believe this is the flow control valve. The PSI is reading at about 12 right now.Would a leaky flow control valve cause the boiler to not run at all, not even to heat the hot water? I'm comfortable running out to Home Depot and buying a valve to install, I replaced the relief valve last year, but I'm not sure if this is a sign of a bigger failure. via /r/DIY https://ift.tt/2NDVs0K
