Well, I guess I'll introduce myself. So, I am a 16 y/o senior student that is planning to start racing at my local Karting race track. But, after looking at the prices of karts where I live they cost upwards to 5,000$!!! Which i cannot afford. Therefore, my genius plan is to build my own. I am currently in a school that teaches you engineering since Grade 9 and I know a handful of AP Physics C Mechanics and a lot of Engineering workshop techniques and I learned how to use AutoCAD 2D & 3D and Fusion 360 at school. However, after looking at the CIK-FIA Technical regulations @ Regulations (basically what i need to follow so i can race in official races) There are so many things that i need to follow and I need help, I don't know where to start, I am pretty sure I need to start with the Frame/Body of the kart but what should my measurements be? what thickness/diameter should my tubes be? etc. (I am using AZ31 Magnesium alloy tubes because that is what most Manufacturer racing karts use)Any help is appreciated!! via /r/DIY http://bit.ly/2UzKpYH
