So, here’s the deal. Over the past month, I’ve been working ~30 hours of overtime each week to try and get out of this financial hole I dug myself into. But over the past week, I got hit with a $160 bill from my previous apartment for cleaning purposes (my ex wife left the dog in the kitchen for a week while I was away and he destroyed it), I got a bill from school for $134 if I want to continue my classes, my car insurer screwed up and double charged me, and looking at the paycheck I’m getting this Friday, my job did something regarding my health insurance, bumping it up from $15 to $280.
So all in all, roughly a $700 jump in expenses over the past week, and this has just completely eaten up all of the overtime I’ve pulled. It feels as though every time I start making progress on my finances, something comes along to ruin it again, and it just feels like I’ll never be able to dig out of this hole. Am I just approaching this whole situation incorrectly?
