Looking for some brains to pick as I gear up to do a DIY pebble tec repair! I am cross posting this from r/pools).After chatting with a few professionals, I get the impression this type of repair is not a favorite job (as customers are often displeased with the lack of perfection in color match). They also implied that it is relatively easy for someone who is marginally industrious, so since I want to save a buck anyway, I am excited (and scared) to tackle it myself! The bullnose edge of my top step is missing aprox. 160 sq. in. of pebble tec (aprox. 20 in. wide x 8 in. tall). I gather that will increase when I drain the pool and determine if I need to chisel off more of the surrounding area (was told to tap and listen for the hollow sound, right?).So, just looking for any advice or cautionary tales before I dive in (pun intended)! Thanks in advance for your help! :) via /r/DIY https://ift.tt/2IXzEP4
