Hey guys I was interested in seeing your outlook on my situation. I find it’s always good to get perspective on things through other people.
I’m about to accept a job that pays $14/hr with only 30 hrs a week. It’s only 20k a year but I get to work at home and it leaves me with a 3 day weekend. I am a college grad and 25 years old in the city so obviously 20k is not going to serve me well in the long run. However I like to live at night so working at home gives me that freedom to stay up late.
To live more comfortably though I could take up a corporate-ish job for a 35k salary. I’m debating this because the current job offer I have gives me a lot of time for side income.
I have 30k in student loans Currently pay no rent $200/mo car payment
Basically I just want perspective on if taking this job is a good idea. It seems like it to me cuz I’ll have a 3 day weekend for side income. Or should I just resort to a job with more hours and more pay? I’m not very experienced in getting side jobs as a freelancer so there’s some uncertainty there. What would you do in my situation? Thanks!
