I’m looking for an apartment closer to my first job out of college but anything I can find close to the 33% recommendation is of extremely poor quality and in bad neighborhoods. Is it a terrible idea to spend half a monthly income on rent? Luckily I don’t have any student loan payments so I have a little extra cash to work with. Regardless is spending around $800 a month on rent/utilities and having at $800 to live on for a month financially feasible?
