I am a cashier, so I am contact with a lot of coins, and the past 1.5 years or so i've been checking my drawers, my change, coinstar return trays(or any coin counting machine. silver coins are not generally accepted and will kick them out).
In this time i've paid about $9.55 for 7.9309 ounces of it. Some of it free, some of it face value, none of it over face value
if we multiply that by spot for one troy ounce 16.19 we get a value of 128 dollars.
just something to consider if you handle money all the time
