I have been waiting a few weeks to get my W-2 and it finally arrived, slightly damaged. It seems it wound up in my neighbor's yard and might have been opened before they found it. It was placed in my mailbox in an envelope with the message I put in the title. The original envelope is nowhere to be found, and there is clearly some water damage on the paper (not a huge deal).
I'm worried someone out there now has all the info they need to steal my identity, and I'm looking for any recommendations of what to do besides freezing my credit for the time being. Thanks.
