TLDR; I don't know how to identify the diameter of screw heads without physically measuring them myself. Is there a way I can figure this out from the descriptions of products online?I've got a door handle which is falling off, and all the screws holding it to the door are random. Some of the heads are stripped so I'm trying to replace them. The problem I have encountered is that I don't have any screws which fit the metal frame of the handle because the heads on all mine are too wide. The screw needs to have a head of max 5mm diameter or it won't sink flush into the handle frame and then the casing which hides the screws won't fit on properly. The DIY store is a bit out of the way for me and I am trying to avoid the trip if I can order something online, but I have no idea how to know that the screw heads will fit because descriptions online only seem to state the shank diameter and length. Can anyone help here, or is the only solution to wait until I have time to visit a DIY store and measure things myself? via /r/DIY http://bit.ly/2DRQme3
