I've been dragging it around for over 12 years. I've tried to keep alive that dream of my 18-year-old self of keeping this hobby going.
I kept telling myself that I'll find a moment when it'll work out; I'll find the space for it where I live; I'll find friends with whom jamming feels fun.
Fortunately, I was finally able to reach the conclusion that I won't really do any of those things and that I was just dragging around a vision of my 18-year-old self that would never see the light of day. Part of growing up, I guess.
I managed to randomly meet someone who I recounted to that I played bass at one point. He seemed interested in buying it when I mentioned that I should probably get rid of it.
It happened and I couldn't be happier. Let it go, people. It's totally worth it.
