Now let me preface by saying I know jewelry isn’t everyone’s thing. But it’s mine. I love jewelry and for me browsing through listings/ photos/ catalogs is relaxing. And this is more of a general reminder.
So a few weeks ago I went to Ben Bridge to look at rings and found one I love for $5k! It was a X-Z (so light yellow) radiant diamond half eternity band in 18k yellow gold. I tried it on, sent my friend pics, saw the price tag and was like “lol no.”
My friend went in today to try the same band on. She fell in love and decided she was going to buy it.
I sourced enough stones to make a replica for under $1600, including the setting, and labor by going custom. I told my friend she should do the same and she agreed.
It’s a good reminder to not rule out things just because you don’t think it’ll be a good option. A lot of people rule out going the custom route for jewelry because they think it’ll be more expensive.
