I work at a home stuffs store and as an employee I can order certain products for an extremely discounted price. Back in November there was an item on the list that caught my eye, the Power Quick Pot. The original price was around $130. The discounted price was $52.20. It's something I would love to have but never be able to buy it at the full price. So I ordered one.
A week later they announced that there will be an ugly Christmas sweater contest and the winner gets a $50 gift card to the store. I made my own sweater while most people bought them. I got a plain sweater from Wal-Mart for $5, then I made my own pompoms and used fabric paint for my design (things that I already had in my crafting collection, so only cost probably 2 cents). I spent the week designing and making it ( mostly waiting for paint to dry). I ended up winning the contest and got the $50 gift card!
Then for Christmas they gave out little goody bags with gift cards in them. I got to pick one with a $10 gift card.
My order came in and when I paid for my Power Quick Pot, with tax, I used my $60 in gift cards and then paid 3 cents of my own money.
I feel victorious!
