This has been a great sub, I love how there is almost always a way to improve your financial situation and save more by cutting expenses. I love reading comments and suggestions and apply them to my day to day life.
But when I bring this up to other people or other subreddits, people get offended. They are stuck in the mindset that they are doing everything they can, and how dare I to suggest looking into cutting expenses. And here comes downvotes, and comments like “they have kids, they live paycheck to paycheck, most of the families in America struggle”.
We can’t help each other until we can be comfortable talking about finances and financial struggles. Until we stop pretending that we can afford keeping up with the Joneses.
