My bank, and apparently my bank account, were both recently bought by flagstar bank, from Wells Fargo. I received mail notifying me that something was happening, and I figured more info would come later. However, even though my address was updated, flagstar sent the new debit card and info to a 4 year old address. The account was then closed and transferred from Wells Fargo to flagstar. They cancelled my debit card, the banks are all closed for the weekend, and I have zero access to my money. My old account overdrafted somehow, and my card was declined today. Rent was due today and I don't know what to do. All of this happened without any say or action on my part, but they said I have to go to a branch in person to fix or reverse it. They took my money just fine without me going there, but need me to do so to give it back. All the affected branches are closed til Monday and I have nothing right now. What do I do? Can I take legal action over this? Should I? I'm lost.
