Went over to my mom's and she said she dropped her gold earring in the sink a few days ago. I looked underneath and usually it's pretty simple, but this one doesn't seem to have pvc nuts at both end to just take the p-trap easily out. I thought maybe that weird thing at the bottom was it, but when I opened that up with a wrench, it was just a filter on the bottom portion and another filter type thing blocking it from allowing things to fall out. When I loosen that metal nut on top, it allows me to pull a bit down maybe a centimeter without force, but with there being no nut on the left I didn't try harder. This is a rental house so I can't go breaking things, and not sure if they'll send maintenance to get an earring out (if it's still even there).
