Hi guys,

I postponed writing this way to long and would be really happy if anybody has some tips or insights for me.

Since several years I am sitting on an inheritance I am not too sure what to do with and which is getting less and less every year.

Right now the total sum is 130.667,83€ (or 148232,72$)

45.659 $ of this summ are deposited as cash in my bank account, this actually in the form US Dollars.

44.475,71 € also consist of cash in another bank account but in Euros.

The rest of the assets is in the form of stocks. Those consist almost entirely of BASF stock as well as some mining companies stocks (less than 10.000$ are not BASF stocks).

All this is with the same german bank.

This weird distribution of assets is due to a fall out with a family member who was taking care of my portfolio about 2 years ago and my lack of action due to insecurity about what to do since then.

Now to my question: what the heck shall I do to not watch the whole summ dwindle further? I am willing to invest (not too risky but also not to conservative). But I do have no idea about how to invest. If I should have a mix of funds and stocks etc.

In the last years I have been spending money out of the deposit steadily. Sometimes more, sometimes less. And I want this to stop as soon as I have found a well paying job.

I might need up to 15.000$ dollar in the next 1,5 years since I am in between jobs. This might change soon though and the idea is not to touch the portfolio further but rather let it grow to be of use for an early retirement (I am 31 now).

My bank guy is an idiot who is just pushing his bank's products while belittling me. I would say I am not trusting him and am in dire need of council. Where to start to bring order in to this mess? Can anybody help me or at least point me into the right direction to get help?
