Daycare where I live is about $1300 per child.
I stay busy with school and work, though I try to spend some time during the day doing something fun with my two year old.
I have annual passes to the children's museum and to the science museum. Both cost around $100 and were gifts (and they are so much better than toys that just turn into clutter).
Other than the obvious answer of not having children for the sake of being frugal, do others have suggestions for socially enriching activities that don't involve spending over a grand a month?
Edit: These are all awesome suggestions! Thank you so much for your input!
On a side note, why is this thread being downvoted? All of these are excellent suggestions for those of us that have small children.
