So I have this acrylic mask I ripped off a full-face snorkeling mask for this project I'm making. The mask is just slightly off from how I want it to be; the eyes are flat and I want the whole face to have a domed shape (this is the mask I have for reference https://www.amazon.com/WildHorn-Outfitters-Compatible-Panoramic-Traditional/dp/B07C5FJ8VC)My idea for fixing this is to first mold some kind of clay on top of the mask to make a molding buck, and then heating the desired area of the acrylic with a heat gun and pressing into it from behind with the mold. Do I need to cover the buck with something so it doesn't bond to the surface of the acrylic and ruin it? Is there a certain kind of clay or foam I should use for this kind of thing?Any advice from fellow makers that would prevent me from ruining this and having to buy another one would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! via /r/DIY https://ift.tt/2TEpKTJ
