It's my understanding from the Valspar site info that the paint is dry to the touch inside of 60 minutes, but not "fully" dry for 7 days. But I'm reading that interior latex paint could take anywhere from 21 to 30 days to fully cure. If it matters, it's a low VOC paint (40-50 g/L).With wood I usually apply stain and clearcoat, but this needed paint both to hide some imperfections and also because this time of year is bad for stain and clear coating since I don't have a garage, I'd have to do that outside. The unit is bare wood, common board (probably spruce or pine). I did one coat of Kilz2 primer as the base coat and two (and maybe will do three) coats with the paint. First coat was thin, second a bit thicker. If I do a third it will just be a thin touch up. I've never really painted stuff before, other than patching nail holes or whatever, so I apologize if this is a kind of dumb question.I don't want to mar or scuff the paint job once it's done. The TV will be mounted, but a soundbar will sit on the top of the shelf and a heavy (20+ lbs) PC will be sitting on the middle shelf. Can I actually load the thing up in a week or less, or will I need to wait up to a month before setting it up? I'd like to use it as soon as possible, as I built it to spec to fit a new PC case that won't fit in my old setup. via /r/DIY https://ift.tt/2P8DWFI
