Last night the hose exiting the system with hot water burst. It sprayed water for an unknown number of hours. Laundry room kitchen and garage are flooded.I shut off the valve from incoming water to the heater. I shut off the breaker to the heater. It was still spraying so I opened the hot water faucet in the bathroom. The hose is still trickling water. The shut off valve seems to be working properly. If I start to open it back up, I can hear the point at which the water starts to flow again. Its about 6am. I would like to get the hose to stop all leaking so I can clean up and go to the store for a hose without the flooding continuing. Is the residual pressure ever gonna stop? Will it be oozing water while I reattach the new hose. Is there some sort of damage other than the hose I should be looking for? Does my shut off valve need to be replaced? Should I attach a garden hose to the drain valve and just leave it open to drain outside? via /r/DIY https://ift.tt/2CZ3Zbd
