Using a throwaway....
I've been at my company (CPA firm, for what it's worth) for a few years and have a couple of years of prior experience, including having my CPA license. I've had the sense that I get paid less than market, but I have been generally happy here. I've only ever received positive feedback at my reviews, and have taken on more responsibility.
Recently, I found out that a new grad (who I will be managing) was hired and is making more than me - not a lot more, but still more. I have significantly more experience and responsibility, and have built up goodwill with my team.
My immediate reaction is it's time to find a new gig, but I'd be interested in knowing if there are any tactics I can use to discuss this internally with management first.
