I saw Medishare and used their calculator and my age and it came out to $49/month for $10k deductible. I do a lot of sports and 2 years ago I had my appendix removed and was a huge operation with drugs and what not. I was insured under my parents Medicaid, but now I make too much to still be under it.

I basically don't want to have a huge surgery and be in debt. $10k is affordable for me. I make $65,000/year self employed income so most of the plans on health care are high. I rarely go to the doctors and only want to rely on this for emergencies really and to not go in debt because of it you know?

What do you guys think and I've also heard self employed can mark their insurance as a tax expense. Is this true?
