I have an outlet in my bathroom that had a cracked wallplate, I went to walmart to get a new one and saw this fancy one called a Lumi Cover wallplate that had a little LED night light on the bottom. The install doesn't require any wiring, just has these metal clips that get power from the sides of the outlet.Anyway, I put it on and then not only was the LED light not working but the entire outlet stopped working. My first thought was a tripped breaker, everything was fine but I still reset the one for that outlet and it still didn't work. I checked every outlet in that area, none are GFCI and they were all working.I figured something messed up the actual outlet so I went back to walmart and bought a new one and replaced it, and it still doesn't work. I have no idea what caused this and I really don't want to have to call an electrician for something I messed up by just installing a wall plate. Any ideas on what it could have been? via /r/DIY https://ift.tt/2BeJCpp
