I'm told that the winters here in Ottawa go anywhere from -5C to -35C and I'm looking for a down coat to go with thicker hoodie, tshirt and jeans. I'm looking at the Arc'teryx Therme and Thorse for the winter but I'. not sure if the thicker thorsen will be necessary as I'd like to not overheat when its -10 to -5. I 'm also looking for a gore tex jacket for the late fall. Maybe -5 and above? Arcteryx Beta AR stood out for me but I'm unsure if it will be enough in addition to a hoodie and tshirt. Thoughts?
