Hello all,

First, sorry if this thread pops up again and again.

The other day I was looked at with puckered lips and "wtf" face because I turned down an invitation to an expensive champain bar. I outright told that I could not afford it with the holidays coming up.

Thing is, we work a customer service job and I do not know how a bunch of 20 years old can rake up hundred dollar bills at a bar working for less than 16$ an hour.

Since then, they crack poor people things jokes. It doesnt bother me much because I silently add up in my head all the shopping and take out et etc they brag about and its simply impossible that they arent in heavy debt with this lifestyle, and to me it isnt worth it.

Did any of you ever encountered this kind of attitude for frugal habits and honestly living within your means? Whats your story?
