I'm trying to adapt a OM617 Mercedes diesel to a tf999 automatic transmission. I know I can just buy a adapter kit but it can't be that hard to make myself. My question is with the flywheel. I know that I'll use the automatic flywheel off the original motor, but how do I measure for the proper thickness so the torque converter is in gauged properly? Any tips or tricks would be great.
