I live in North America and when you have kids, people tend to repeat that kids are super expensive etc. etc. and I am not refuting this idea. But I live in Canada, in the cheapest big city housing-wise, and with public transportation. A child wouldn't be breaking the bank in this situation. But still. When I share this with other people, they believe I want to deprive my child from a normal life. It's a bit discouraging.
I don't have a child yet, but I want to live a very simply life, and have them believe that their happiness won't come from just owning more (but it's okay to find happiness in something that isn't a need of course, so if they want something I wouldn't always say no). Anyway I could go on and on about how a simple life =/= deprivation but I am not there yet, so I want to hear from people who have done it or currently going through it!
Thanks <3
