"But water is free!" you're probably thinking.
This is true. However, I've struggled with drinking water my entire life, and this year I've been adjusting my eating habits to be more healthy. Liquid intake is one of the things I struggle most with.
I don't drink alcohol or soda, and I've been 100% off caffeine for over 6 months now (though I still drink decaf coffee and tea). 90% of my liquids come from milk, which I mix with powdered supplements to manage my calorie/nutrient intake in a cost-efficient manner, going through roughly 3 gallons each week.
Even with this, I can feel the effects of dehydration, yet still have no desire to drink water. When I do drink plain water, I quickly feel bloated. In the past, I've used carbonated/flavored water to help, but many of the artificial sweeteners used disagree with me.
As far as the frugality of the situation goes, I'm currently using a powdered drink mix (usually lemonade, Walmart or Crystal Light brand) and dilute it heavily. It seems pretty insignificant at a cost of $6 every other week, but food is generally the easiest place to reduce one's expenses.
To that end - do you guys have any recommendations or alternatives to this? Out of everything I've tried, this seems to be the cheapest option I've found.
