Hi, my wife and I live in a rental apartment and our electricity bills are really high each month partly because it gets really cold in Philly winter and also the fact that we have really high ceilings and its having to heat the whole apartment. We have huge windows that I am not allowed to put any insulation on (according to our property management)
We figured an alternative is to use a portable heater (We usually just stick around in the living room huddled on the couch the whole time). In the bedroom we have heated blankets so nights are bearable. My question is, would a portable heater pointed to the couch area cut down costs? Also, I which would be a better cost effective option between: space heaters, oil heaters, portable electric heaters, and infrared heaters.
