I give a budgeting class to a group I volunteer for. Some of the other volunteers have asked for help with their personal finances. Many of them do not speak English well (I am in U.S.) and have problems with trusting so it is likely advice from me or none at all. I am happy to do it but I am worried about taking on liability if I give any advice on insurance or investing. I am experienced and confident I can help but I am not in any way licenced for that (I do financial and controlling I.T. work). Am I being paranoid in thinking there might be some risk? Is there anything I can do to protect myself that would easy to do?
