Hi, I'm planning to move to my first apartment in two months. I have the option of paying the apartment management a fee (a "retainer") when the current tenant submits a move-out notice, to save the apartment for myself and prevent them from advertising it. The other option would be to wait until the tenant moves out, the apartment is cleaned and ready for viewing and then submit an application. Note that the application processing might take a week or two. I was wondering which route would be better and safer option. In case you'd like to know, I'm searching in East Bremerton - Silverdale area, WA. I'd really appreciate any tips in regards to apartment application and leasing. Thanks
