Okay, so we are a family of five and my husband works in the oil fields. He makes great money but for some reason we are still living paycheck to paycheck. We don't go out to eat often. Maybe once or twice a month and we don't have very much extra spending. I only buy clothes for the kids when the seasons change or when they grow out of them. I need help budgeting so anything is welcome. Okay so he makes 26/hr and 39/hr in overtime. He works two weeks on and one week off 12 hours a day that will eventually go up to 15. His pay period is set in a way that he has a 7 day week a 3 day week and a 4 day week. He gets paid bi-weekly. So his checks will rotate between a 7day and a 3 day that comes to $3692 and the next check will be a 3day and a 4day that comes to $2288 and the last will be a 7day and a 4day that comes to $4117. This is gross pay before taxes. He just switched companies and got a raise so I'm not sure how much will come out for that.

Our expenses

Rent $1250

His car $550

My car $650

Internet $130

Electric $170

Water $130

Hulu $47

Netflix $15

Phone $400

Car insurance $200

Rent insurance $35

Snap-on $220

Tacpack $55

Child support $770

Health insurance $300 per check

The car payments we are working on getting lowered. Our credit isn't that great so we need to make more payments on them before we can refinance. We are needing to save some money so we can get a lawyer because we are trying to get primary custody of his daughter. I don't really know where we can cut costs outside of his tac pack but thats the one thing he gets for himself and i don't want to tell him to cut that. I still have a four year old at home which is why I stay home. I don't have a degree so the only jobs I would be able to get wouldn't have the greatest pay. The other two are five and six so if I get a job that goes past four when they get home I would need care all day for one and afterschool for the other two. after school care runs about $70 per child per week. and all day care for my four year old is $90 per week. so thats $230 per week so around $900 per month. Please help. Be honest. tell me what to do. We don't have any savings and it scares me.
