I have a degree in engineering, and I currently make decent money with good opportunities to move up with my employer in the future. But I hate engineering, I’ve know that I’ve hated it since my first co-op term during school. I thought I was too deep into my degree to switch out so I just finished it off and thought I’d figure it out later. Not the smartest, I know. I just hate waking up everyday and spending 8 hours (usually more because of the workload) doing something I know I’ll never enjoy.
I’ve always really enjoyed working part time jobs at restaurants, retail, pretty much anything that deals with the general public on a daily basis. Retail doesn’t offer the career fulfilment and financial opportunities I’d like long term.
Any advice on a career path where I interact with clients daily that’s not a call centre? Car salesman, banking are things I’ve considered so far. Thank you
