Hi folks. Sorry in advance for 2 separate questions and if this gets a little long.First, my attached garage 2 exterior walls. One of which is above grade. It gets really cold in there in the PA winters and there are pipes in the ceiling. This also leaks cold air in to my basement where the rest of the pipes are. Can I simply attach something like this foam board along the exterior walls that are above grade (sorry, only pic I could find showing the exterior wall and I'm not going out in the rain!) and attach it to the block with adhesive (pl300 or other)? Any concerns with mold or flammability? We park both cars in here so they will drip water, but assuming I leave 1/2" gap at the bottom I'd imagine it will stay dry. Given how narrow the parking bays are, and me not wanting to put holes in the block if possible, I'm trying to avoid framing things out and using rolls of fiberglass.2nd question. We have an upper and a lower deck. We're hoping to put a ceiling under the upper deck so that we can sit on the lower deck if it's raining (and prevent ice on it in the winter). My plan is to attach pieces of 2x4 to the joists gradually getting lower as I move toward the stones in the picture. Im also not sure of how much runoff ill get so I may or may not add a gutter. What I'm not clear of is exactly what material I should use here. Hopefully that comes in pieces small enough to fit in a Subaru Forester!I'm admittedly not the handiest of guys. My crowning achievement is ripping out our carpets and laying down new bamboo flooring and trim. But I figure both of these look straight forward enough for me to try.
