I’m currently having an issue where my half sister (14) is continually having her money from birthdays, allowances, and Christmas taken from her by my step mother. She earns a fair bit by my dad in chores, and we have a large family that gives her money for her birthday and Christmas. Unfortunately when she has her cash in her room, my step mom goes in and takes the money from her. Or if family members give the money to my stepmother to give to my sister it never actually makes it to her and it goes to online shopping or expenses for the other children in the family. This also happens to my other half siblings but they are younger and generally they get to keep their money. Is there anything that I can do personally on my own to open up an account for her to be able to get transfers or be able to immediately deposit the money? Am I overstepping? I am an adult living on my own with my husband, so I am not there all the time to call my step mom out. What can we do on this end?
