Hey /diy team!Let me begin with a story. My wife and I bought our house and a few months in we realized we had a huge flooding problem in our basement.Originally we thought it was from the two drains in the basement. So I installed back water valves and that fixed the issues with storm water coming from the floors.Shortly after we noticed a steady stream coming from a wall in our basement. I poked a tiny hole in the bottom of the wall with a drill and turned on a faucet that now runs whenever it rains. My wife and I would like to correct the problem without paying 10,000 big bills for a sump pump. As we are planning to move out in a few years.I watched a lot of videos on patching walls with water proof cement fillers. And then putting coats of water sealant paint on the walls. We plan on getting the roof and gutters replaced next month to alleviate the issue of water build up outside.I was wondering if patching the walls (correctly) actually works? And if anyone has done this before successfully what tips do you have? via /r/DIY https://ift.tt/2RuSpcI
