I've been trying to seal my front door. I've replace the weather stripping and squared the door in the frame. It seals much better on the top and sides but had lots of gets at the bottom. I unscrew the old door sweep to find that the last inch or so at the bottom of this metal front door is wood. A block of wood that's been screwed to the bottom of the door. It's also about a quarter in narrower that the rest of the door. The rest of the door is 1.75 inches thick but this piece is 1.5 inches thick. Is there a reason for this? A special door sweep for this door that makes up the difference or was this someones repair gone wrong? At 1.5 inches thick none of the sweeps at the store will fit it. They just bunch up and press in weather stripping on the door jam making it leak more. via /r/DIY https://ift.tt/2EIvyrP
