https://ift.tt/2pzoDXK seriously blown away that dishwashers are even designed this way. The dishwasher, when opened, rocks forward at an 11 degree tilt, sending the trays violently crashing outward. The only way to stop this is with the top mounting brackets, which they drilled into the bottom my granite countertops. Of course, after a week of use, the screws completely blew out and stripped the holes (GREAT..) Apparently I have the heaviest dishwasher door ever — but why the hell are dishwashers designed to do this at all? Why don't they just stay level at all times, like a laundry machine? Sigh.In any case, since I can't rely on the top mounts anymore and do NOT want to drill more holes into my countertops, I'd like to just shove something underneath the dishwasher so that if it does try to fall forward, it can't. There is a metal bar underneath the dishwasher that I can stick something under similar to putting a jack under a car. It's a weird height... around 5.38" as I've measured.I tried searching for a miniature jack stand but apparently they don't exist, or I don't know the right term for it. I'm imagining something I can slide under, and then hand-turn so that it gradually expands upwards, similar to a car jack... but very very small. Does such a thing exist? If not, what would you guys recommend here? Is there some ideal stackable thing besides just cramming a bunch of junk under it? I'm hoping for something reliable and minimal so that I can put the cover back on the bottom of the dishwasher and not have to look at some janky stack of wood underneath it :/ via /r/DIY https://ift.tt/2QPPyLf
