My boyfriend and I are going to the Smoky Mountains in two months. We are trying to save money on hotel rooms since we'll be staying in one for 2-3 nights. I've hiked the mountains before so I know what to expect in that regard. We live in North GA, so the drive is only 3 hours.
I'd like to get a decent hotel room that's not crazy expensive so we can spend money on the experience itself since it's his first time going. I was wondering if anyone here had any advice.
The last time I went, I stayed in a room that was $100 and it was absolutely filthy. I could barely manage to sleep on the bed but since I was only there for one night, I put up with it.
In this case, I'm okay with spending a little more for a cleaner hotel but I'd like to save as much as possible so we can do more in the city after we hike.
Any advice appreciated!
