I Figured I'd ask the more financial adept on how to fix my issue I'm about to break down my situation and what I've done so far
I made a stupid decision in 2015 that put me in 9,000 $ of Dept
School Dept is at 4,000 $ this is the only upside
I owe 1,000 $ to a credit card company
Another 700 to a phone company
My mother fell ill so I asked my aunt to come take aunt lives in a different state) I worked minimum wage and couldn't afford the place we were currently staying at.The lease was broken early but because anyone over 18 is required to be on the lease I inherited 7,000 $ of Dept from my mother.
I'm currently staying in a cramped room with a friend whom I am very grateful to. I work as a package handler barely making 200$ a week
The goal is to quickly get out of Dept, move into my own space. Though I love my friend whos letting me share a room with him I don't mix well with 3 dogs and 14 cats in a cramped trailer.
I just now found a second job I plan to work both for as long as it takes. Apart from getting a second job to speed up the process of saving money to pay off my Dept. I'm not quite sure what else I should be doing so I'm posting this here in case anyone has ideas or insights on what other steps I should take (I'm pretty much at an all time low but I'm not quite ready to give up).Thanks in advance
