Had an outpatient procedure done that both the doctors office and I confirmed with my insurance would not be covered. Paid an out of pocket price up front.

Over a month later, the doctor sends a bill in the mail for the copay for the visit, and filed a claim according to my insurance company (had EOB claiming procedure covered on insurance portal).

I feel like I'm paying too much and am unsure what to do next. Do I go after the doctor for my payment back if insurance paid? Do I go after insurance and figure out why it was covered when I was told it wasn't? I would prefer having my out of pocket back if possible.

Sorry if wrong subreddit, can post elsewhere if needed.
