I had signed up to a gym on the 14/09/18 on their premises but soon found that getting parked at the gym was very unlikely. The gym is near my work but not near my house so it would be inconvenient try go again later.
The gym has a 2 week cooling off period from the date I signed up which allows me to cancel my membership without any charges providing I cancel within that period. I had spoken to to the gym manager after the first week and asked to cancel my membership citing not being able to park my car as the reason, (would they be in breach of contract not providing adequate facilities?) he was aware of the issue and told me about a street I could park down nearby, I declined and asked him to process my cancellation which he verbally confirmed. This morning they had taken money from my account leaving me overdrawn. I called the gym this morning and the manager wasn’t there, he’s supposed to call me when he starts his shift this afternoon.
What is the best approach to take when I speak with the manager to get my money back?
TLDR - gym had taken money from my account when they wasn’t supposed to, verbally agreed by gym manager. What is the best course of action to get my money back.
