In the middle of my first kitchen remodel. We removed the upper cabinets and will be installing a rhombus mosiac backsplash from counter to ceiling as well as walnut and iron pipe shelving, and a floating range hood. What in second guessing it's whether I should tile around the range hood and completely tile the wall before mounting the shelf brackets. I see one way of thinking in that everything will be an even surface, and the tiles will look ok if the range hood was ever replaced. The other thinking is that the tiles are to small and might compromise the strength of the shelf mounts. Also the increased difficulty of drilling holes in the porcelain tile. Should I mark my mounting points and tile around those areas? Allowing the iron flange heads to sit directly on the wall? via /r/DIY https://ift.tt/2QhO785
